A Grandfather’s Furious Reflection on a Trial That Should Never Have Happened:
My son told judge Alexander Calero the truth: ‘You’re covering up sexual abuse.’ Listen to the courtroom where truth was muted and family was thrown out for protesting.
On 4/9/25 when Judge Alex Calero had me promise to be present at my daughter-in-law’s trial scheduled for 4/25/25, I tried to believe there was a good reason. I wanted to believe Judge Alex Calero had invited me there because he was concerned for my granddaughters. That maybe, just maybe, someone in that courtroom was finally thinking about what was best for them — about protecting them, about giving them a real chance at a safe, loving life with loving family.
But as I sat there in that cold, calculating courtroom, watching the proceedings unfold, a sickening thought began to creep in: Was I really invited to help? Or was I invited to witness the brutal, malicious persecution of my innocent daughter-in-law — a show trial built on retaliation, anger, and personal vendettas?
Was this payback because of my blog, because I dared to speak the truth and refuse to stay silent? It felt less like justice and more like theater — cruel, orchestrated theater. And the cost of this performance? My granddaughters’ future. My family’s dignity. My daughter-in-law’s humanity. Judge Alex Calero had a choice. He could have stood for fairness. He could have protected innocent lives from being shredded for sport. Instead, it seemed he chose pride, ego, and vengeance.
He invited me there not to help — but to watch. To be a spectator as people who should have known better tore my family apart. The law is supposed to protect the vulnerable. But what I saw that day was a system weaponized against a woman who had already suffered enough — and a grandfather who was naive enough to hope for justice in a rigged game.
If Judge Calero thought inviting me would break me, he failed. If he thought he could humiliate me into silence, he failed. If he thought I would watch my family be destroyed and quietly walk away, he failed. I will never forget what I saw in that courtroom. And I will never stop fighting for my granddaughters, for my family, and for the truth. Because some things are too important to surrender — even when the very people who should uphold justice choose to trample it instead.
As the persecution trial of Evelyn Lopez continues 5/6/25. Stay tuned.

SAY THEIR NAMES — BRING THEM HOME
Updated – September 2025: My two granddaughters remain hostage in San Diego County’s system. Instead of reunification, Child Welfare Services and the Guardian ad Litem’s office retaliated by placing restraining orders on me — their RFA-approved paternal grandfather, an elder, caregiver, conservator and trustee. This is not child protection. It is punishment for speaking out and exposing abuse, false reporting, and violations of human dignity.
Updated – October 2025: These officials no longer act with humanity or conscience. Their decisions reflect a system stripped of empathy — one that punishes love, silences truth, and violates basic human dignity. My granddaughters remain hostages of bureaucracy, not beneficiaries of justice.
Malaika and Xayah Robinson were taken into San Diego County Child Welfare captivity in June 2024. They remain separated from their family today, placed with a non-relative caregiver, Norma Olivares. Their grandfather and mother continue to fight for their return and for accountability within the system. A small group of dedicated advocates has now joined the fight, standing beside this family in their pursuit of justice and reunification.
What we’re living through isn’t justice — it’s prosecution without a crime. The only thing on trial is a family’s love and determination to be together.
