When strangers forget that children belong first to family, they stop protecting them and start possessing them. Foster care is a responsibility, not a replacement — it does not make someone else’s child your own.

These two girls — Malaika and Xayah Robinson — are not orphans, not lost, and not forgotten.
They have a family. They have love. And unless they are in the arms of their mother, their father, their grandfather, their great-grandmother, or even their advocate, Audra —
They are stolen.
