Since removal from their biological parents, familiar family and placement with unrelated, unverified caretakers, both minor children have experienced life-altering medical deterioration.
My granddaughters live day to day in grave danger—because of the very system meant to protect them. In the hands of San Diego Child Welfare Services, under the oversight of many agents that don’t and can’t work in a civil fashion with human beings my family is living a nightmare. My youngest granddaughter, just 1.5 years old, is now fighting for her life.

This is a painful post to write, but it’s one I refuse to stay silent about any longer. My granddaughters are being held in what I consider unwarranted state custody, and the people responsible—I’ve removed their names in hopes of a peaceful resolution and to bring the girls home or if not they must be held accountable if anything happens to these innocent girls.
I am their grandfather. I have shown up, spoken out, and fought peacefully every step of the way to bring them home. But instead of doing what’s right, these Child Welfare Services workers and guardian ad litem have retaliated against me—for my blog, for my peaceful protests, for daring to question a system that too often operates in the shadows.
They’ve cut off my visits. They’ve ignored the bond I have with my granddaughters. And they’ve made decisions that appear to be driven by pride and power—not by the best interest of the children.
This is not just about me. It’s about two young girls who deserve to be with their family, not trapped in a system that refuses to acknowledge its mistakes.
If either one of my granddaughters is harmed while in state custody, the names I’ve listed here will not be able to hide behind bureaucracy. I will continue to speak out. I will continue to protest. And I will not stop fighting until they are safe and home where they belong.
