Children’s Legal Services of San Diego

The Guardian ad Litem’s office in San Diego has weaponized its position against this family, abandoning its duty to protect the best interests of these grandchildren. Instead, its staff has engaged in a pattern of retaliation, obstruction, and sabotage aimed at the paternal grandfather and the family fighting to keep these girls connected to their own blood.

1. Blocking Placement with a Qualified Relative – Despite being RFA-approved, a blood relative, and the full-time caregiver/conservator/trustee for his 88-year-old dependent mother, the paternal grandfather was deliberately blocked from receiving placement of his granddaughters.

2. Character Assassination – Lisa Haight spent over a year targeting the paternal grandfather personally, demanding records at every hearing, smearing his name in court, and manufacturing reasons to deny the girls placement with him. This was not about child safety — it was about destroying his credibility.

3. Conspiracy with Caregivers and Social Workers – The office colluded with Norma Olivares and her husband Ronald Rivas Silverio, who fabricated lies and posed as caregivers to seize control of the grandchildren. Together with social workers like David Miller and Ashlee Purnell, County Counsel Jessica Nicole Fellman, and Judge Alexander Calero, they built a paper trail of false reports to sabotage reunification and annihilate the children’s bond with their family.

4. Retaliation Through Restraining Orders – On August 12, 2025, after the paternal grandfather refused Nicole McConn’s demand to take down photos of Haight from the family blog, a Temporary Restraining Order was suddenly issued against him. That order — which even dragged in his own grandchildren — was clear retaliation for protected speech.

5. Abuse of Power Against an Elder – By pursuing false reports, conspiracies, and court orders against the paternal grandfather — a 67-year-old elder with no history of misconduct — the Guardian ad Litem’s office engaged in elder abuse and put both him and his dependent elderly mother at risk.

This is not child advocacy. This is fraud, abuse of authority, and civil rights violations in broad daylight.

Meanwhile, two little girls suffer in trauma and terror — crying for their family, begging to come home.

Toward the end, I was informed that Lisa Haight wanted me to have visits with my granddaughters. But why? Why did she character-assassinate me for over a year, only to later support visits? Is she simply trapped in a brutal system where doing the right thing puts a target on her back? Would they even come after their own guardian ad litem if she went against the others?

And then there is Nicole McConn — a supervisor who abused her power by putting restraining orders on a devoted grandfather and even his own granddaughters. My granddaughters light up when they see me, and I have sacrificed over $40,000 to support them. To weaponize the system against that bond is nothing less than child abuse by proxy and retaliation in plain sight.
