My name is Ricky Robinson. I am a 67-year-old grandfather who should be spending his golden years in peace—reading to my granddaughters, watching them grow, and passing down wisdom. Instead, I’m fighting a brutal battle against a system that has kidnapped and continues to harm the two youngest members of my family.
This is not just my story—it is my family’s nightmare. From age 1 to 87, we are victims of inhumane treatment and cruel and unusual punishment at the hands of San Diego Child Welfare Services (CWS) and Children’s Legal Services of San Diego (CLS). What is happening to us is not child protection—it is sanctioned abuse, retaliation, and trauma disguised as justice.
To make matters worse, the caregiver Norma Olivares currently holding my granddaughters hostage is a woman who cannot bear her own children—yet she is being allowed to sabotage our family. She lies repeatedly to social workers, making false reports to paint a false narrative and delay, if not destroy, any chance of reunification. Her actions are not about the children’s well-being—they are about control, manipulation, and an attempt to permanently take what is not hers.
My two granddaughters—both toddlers—have been ripped from our family. Both have recently been hospitalized. One of them, just a year and a half old, remains hospitalized. She is on oxygen, hooked up to IVs, with tubes running from her tiny body. Their health has rapidly deteriorated under state custody. This is not protection—it is child endangerment.
This cruelty is not an accident—it is retaliation. The following individuals have taken deliberate steps to punish me and my family because I exercised my First Amendment rights, peacefully protested, and dared to speak out on my blog:
Rather than address my concerns or safeguard my grandchildren, these officials weaponized their power to silence me, punish my family, and inflict irreversible trauma on innocent children.
San Diego CWS and CLS are failing. They are not saving children—they are destroying families. And I refuse to stay silent while my granddaughters suffer behind a wall of bureaucracy and unchecked authority.
