The Recusal Demand
End the Corruption in Department 10
Judge Alexander M. Calero – San Diego Dependency CourtWhen justice becomes retaliation, and the courtroom becomes a weapon, the judge himself must be held accountable. This page documents the ongoing misconduct, bias, and abuse of authority inside Department 10 at Meadow Lark Family Court, where families have been silenced, records falsified, and retaliation disguised as law.
Recusal Statement Summary: Judge Alexander M. Calero and His Complicit Network
Judge Alexander M. Calero has demonstrated clear bias and judicial misconduct throughout the Robinson-Lopez dependency proceedings. His courtroom has become a staging ground for case-fixing, perjury, and retaliation, coordinated between County Counsel Jessica Nicole Fellman, the Guardian ad Litem office (Lisa Haight and Nicole McConn), and San Diego Child Welfare Services (CWS). Together, they have acted not as protectors of children, but as enforcers of a system built on intimidation, deception, and concealment of abuse.
Calero has ignored and enabled false reports and character assassination targeting the children’s biological family — including the RFA-approved paternal grandfather, who is also the caregiver, conservator, and trustee for an elderly dependent. Instead of safeguarding the family’s rights, Calero has permitted a cycle of retaliation and psychological warfare, rubber-stamping every fabricated narrative advanced by his associates in CWS and the Guardian ad Litem office.
Even when Evelyn Lopez, the children’s mother, completed her full service plan — and even went beyond by enrolling herself in additional therapy and parenting programs — Calero refused to commend her. Instead, he condemned her for not having a driver’s license or vehicle, despite a lifetime of relying on family transportation. He punished her for reconciling with her children’s father, turning a moment of hope into another public humiliation. Evelyn left his courtroom in tears. That is not justice. It is cruelty dressed in robes.
Under his authority, overwhelming evidence of child trauma, medical neglect, and possible sexual abuse has been disregarded. False and conflicting reports — written by social workers, GAL staff, and and non-relative caregivers — have been accepted as fact, despite clear proof of fabrication. Each lie was used to destroy family bonds, prolong separation, and protect the system’s false narrative.
In recent months, Norma Olivares, the lead conspirator and non-relative caregiver, has escalated her campaign of deceit. Working in concert with County Counsel Fellman and the Guardian ad Litem office, she pushed for bogus restraining orders — even extending them absurdly to the grandfather’s own granddaughters — in an effort to isolate the family and silence public exposure. These orders were not acts of protection; they were acts of retaliation, weaponized through a corrupt legal process.
The Guardian ad Litem Lisa Haight led a year-long campaign of character assassination against the paternal grandfather, fighting to block family placement even after full RFA approval. Her supervisor, Nicole McConn, retaliated against constitutionally protected speech, threatening legal action for exposing Haight’s misconduct online. Both acted with malice and coordination alongside Calero and County Counsel Fellman.
The Robinson and Lopez family are not alone. Other families — Leanne and Julius, and Jennifer and Jay — have also suffered under Calero’s control. Each reported the same corruption, bias, and manipulation. When Calero finally stepped away from Jennifer and Jay’s case, Jennifer said, “God finally answered my prayers.”
This is not an isolated courtroom failure. It is a network of corruption — a revolving door of county counsel, social workers, guardian ad litem agents, and judicial actors all operating in concert to suppress the truth, discredit families, and protect their own power.
And through it all, two little girls — Malaika and Xayah — have endured more trauma and psychological abuse in one year than most people experience in an entire lifetime. Every forced separation, every fabricated report, every manipulated visit has deepened their suffering. They are the living evidence of this system’s cruelty.
Judge Alexander M. Calero must be recused immediately, and a full investigation opened into County Counsel Fellman, Lisa Haight, Nicole McConn, San Diego CWS, Norma Olivares, and all others complicit in the ongoing retaliation, falsified reports, and violations of constitutional and human rights.
